Healthy Relationship Plus Program

The Healthy Relationship Plus Program (HRPP) applies the same core principles of skill building and awareness as the Fourth R classroom-based programs, but in a non-classroom setting. This project targets the prevention of violence through the promotion of positive, healthy relationships. Ours is a proactive, competency-enhancement approach rather than a treatment. Bridle Path Stable will be offing Summer Programs for the first time in 2021 at our new location in the Goulds. We are looking for mature, enthusiastic fun-loving staff who love horses, children, and outdoor recreation to join our team for the Summer!  This is not your typical Horse Summer Camp! Staff will lead participants in horsemanship, Equine Assisted Learning Programs, Riding Lessons, Arts & Crafts, Outdoor Recreation & Sports, and Outdoor Education & Learning Programs.   


* All Positions  are for the period of 8-10 weeks  @35- 40 hrs per week 

* Staff training will take place prior to start of programs , dates to be determined

*Schedules may vary & staff could be scheduled for shifts Sunday – Saturday  between 7am - 7pm 

* This employment opportunity is under the Canada Student Summer Grants and all applicants must be between the ages of 15-30 years old as a grant requirement  and be legally entitled to work in Canada. International students are not eligible.


* Positions are also pending COVID regulations in NL for operating programs with children & youth

Set up and take down of equipment & facility as needed  

Ensure Safety Standards with programs, provide first aid to participants 

Special Events 

Complete reports as needed 

Able to lift 25kg 

Qualifications 

· 4+ years progressive leadership experience in sport/recreation/equine/leisure programs 

· 3+ years experience with horses or equivalent  

· Standard First Aid + CPR C * completed by start date

· HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development Certification * completed by start date 

· Equine Canada Learn to Teach (asset) · Equine Rider Levels (asset)· Mental Health First Aid (asset) · Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Certificate of Conduct with Vulnerable Sector Check – Dated in last 3 months · Post - secondary education would be considered an asset in Recreation Management/Sport/Outdoor Education/Early Childhood Education/Equine   · Leadership experience/training  

· Experience in planning and implementing programming in a group setting and the ability to instruct various sports, outdoor activities, arts/crafts, and low organized games · Candidates possessing an equivalent combination of education and experience that is deemed acceptable may be considered

 Program Leader
